Before I go on babbling about these latest techs in the Malaysian market, I have a confession to make. I am still a newbie in latest gadgets and techs (kononlah, hehe), so ignore my sometimes-ignorant P.O.V.

Technologies are fast growing in our country, sometimes you think you know all-about-technology, but tadaa! you don’t! The past month, my thoughts are juggling between to apply for a celcom broadband or a streamyx package for my another year of hectics and tragic-ness at my ‘beloved’ uitm shah alam. Well, financial factor may be part of the problem, yet there are some factors to consider too.

1. If I apply for a celcom broadband, I have to buy the modem at RM499 (without contract). God, that’s considered as quite a lot of money for an undergraduate like me.

2. Celcom broadband coverage and 3G do not apply to most parts of Sabah (sadly, that includes my area, too). So, it’s not worth my money to buy the modem considering the long-term applicability of the modem at my non-3G and non-broadband place.

3. Applying for Streamyx proves to be not so convenient for me too. I’m renting a house at Shah Alam for a year only during my study there and perhaps considering applying for streamyx. But, I have to apply for a fixed telephone line, another unnecessary thing.

4. I’m not into ’sharing’ some stuff with others sometime, same goes to applying for internet connection. I prefer to be responsible paying for my own usage.

Streamyx offer quite reasonable packages recently, I’m into it! Haha! But there’s more factors to consider than Celcom broadband.

I was excited for the prices of Huawei E220 USB modem for celcom broadband. If you’re into it too, check out this site. http://www.muntada.com.my/3G-HSDPA/
