Urgh, I’m juggling my little time left in KK between reading an interesting novel I bought recently (left) and another classics by DH Lawrence – Sons and Lovers. I’ve watched the movie, and I’ve come to terms to commit reading PS I Love You; or else I have to ‘abandon’ my love for novels for another ‘educational-related’ classics. *Sigh*

I didn’t actually want to buy this novel (‘cos I know I wouldn’t have time reading it casually). Well, though I’m not into Hilary Swank (she’s even not my ideal when watching the movie), the simplicity of the front cover plus the minimal use of colours for the front cover design attracted me!

**Looks like I have to postpone my indulging in this novel for a few months**

PS I Love You

At last! I got hold of Cecilia Ahern’s bestselling novel, P.S. I Love You a fews days ago. *Grin* The movie was out in the cinema last year, and I was excited to Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler being featured in the front cover of the novel! Since I’ve watched the movie (and Hilary Swank didn’t mesmerize me), but havent read the novel, I wont say much.

I am recommending it for romantic hearts like me! If you’re interested to grab hold of the novel, do check out MPH Online.

Here I come, movie mode again. I got myself landed into one of those days when I’m all into movie movie movie and nothing more. Well, I had to drag along my not-a-movie-goer boyfriend, into my movie mode, too!

The Orphanage

Seriously thought it was an English movie (I didn’t care to watch the trailer or whatsoever it was in the media). Turned out it was in SPANISH! Mi amor, enough of Spanish soap operas, hehe! Though I won’t say I dislike the spanish dramas on TV. I got distracted with looking at the subtitles now and then. I mean, throughout the 1 hour and 40 minutes show!

It’s directed by Juan Antonio Bayona and acted by some unknown actors and actresses. Hehe! It’s one of those movies with creepy sounds, dark rooms, haunted house, bla bla bla. I’ll give it 3/5 ratings. Only. Good enough what. Whatever it is, the movie is highlighted with a pretty nice climax and post-climax. (In fact, I got a bit of a goosebumps, haha!)

**End of story** or else, I’m going to rant on and on..

Govt to review oil price subsidy: Najib
25 May, 2008

Pekan: The Government is to review the oil price subsidy as the rising price of crude oil in the world market has pushed the cost of subsidy way past the expenditure for development, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Saturday.

He said the matter would be discussed in depth at a meeting on Tuesday of the Cabinet Committee on Inflation. Najib will chair the meeting as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is chairman of the committee, is abroad.

“When the oil price rises too high, we have no choice but to review the subsidy because we have reached a stage where the annual subsidy for oil, gas and other essential items has exceeded the allocation for development,” he told reporters after attending a mass circumcision ceremony at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Maulana, here.

World crude oil price reached US$138 (RM444) on Friday.

Najib said the principle being worked on for the oil price subsidy was that the low-income group would enjoy a better facility than high-income earners and those who use more fuel.

He also said the new subsidy scheme would not be implemented at once but in stages, taking into account the financial capacity of the people. The Government would also ensure that the cost of other items, including food, was contained, he said. “If we can maintain the prices of food, the people will not feel the pinch too much,” he said.

Meanwhile, Najib said he hoped the Pilgrims Management and Fund Board would maintain the minimum fare for Haj flights despite the rising oil price.

“With the oil price continuing to rise, it is a challenge for Tabung Haji to maintain the minimum fare as it did last year,” he said at the presentation of national Tabung Haji exemplary awards, here.

However, it could not be helped if the fare had to be raised in view of the rising price of crude oil in the world market, he said. The price of crude oil hit US$138 (RM444) per barrel on Friday.

Tabung Haji Chairman Tan Sri Abi Musa Asa’ari Mohamed Nor was also present at the function where 50 pupils and students were honoured for outstanding achievement in public examinations.

What? The price of crude oil hit US$138 (RM444) per barrel??! It used to be about US$80 per barrel.. like 4 years ago?? Last night, hundreds of people hit the petrol kiosks around KK and Penampang. Waah! Tiba-tiba saja jammed tragik di Donggongon semalam, even when it’s way past peak hours! And, the prices of goods increased too. Petrol naik, beras naik, semua pun naik.

Huh, this is no play-play man. Even my working boyfriend considered to postpone buying a new car. I don’t feel the tragic-ness as of yet, but heck, I’m going to suffer to when I’m back to Shah Alam. OH NO!

These are all the awesome voices I’ve heard  back then but of which I could not figure all-about-it! Pathetic me. Or perhaps I did not care less to bother about it. Well, now I’ve figured it out. This song is so awfully pleasant to my ears!
